Use a length of painter's tape to secure the control surface in place and let the epoxy cure. I don't place any type of light oil on the hinges before inserting them, I feel the oil may spread to a place that will prevent the epoxy from sticking. Don't believe the myth that any left over epoxy that gets on the hinge will permanently lock it in place. Trust me on this one! Once the epoxy is cured, get a cotton swab (Q-tip) and dip it into
