Once I figured out what I had been doing wrong, the task then turned into carefully cutting into the structure without messing it up. With some careful work with sharp knives and chisels, I was able to get them fitted and working properly. While the hinges that you see are epoxied to the inside of the fuselage, I decided it best not to attach the door to make painting easier.
